the battle of Orgreave
This documentary was a very interesting one because it was modern day with a mix of the olden days. It reminds me of a scene from "Sweet Home Alabama" where the father and his friends all reenact war scenes in the pretend battle fields. In this scene, unlike the one in the movie, the soldiers are in modern day clothes and used modern day weapons; the only thing that was old fashion was the battle techniques. THey used blockade and lines with advanced police shields instead of old fashion ones. The individuals being interviewed were not only excited but seemed to be pretty emotional about the situation at hand. They were almost touched by the scene as if it were bringing back memories of the past. I really liked the format of this video because it made the situation seem more important. Making it a documentary changes the reenactment into something educational for not only the actors but the viewers as well. Everything seemed to be so organized and reminded me of appropriation. Like the video's in class, each scene was acted like the original piece...but somethings have changed. In this case the clothing and equipment have changed and only the fighting technique stayed the same. I actually found the people in the video very humorous and their actions and what they said to be amusing.
