The robotic sounding voice at the beginning of this video makes it difficult to understand what Morris is trying to say. But when the images and videos start playing, the narration becomes clearer. This makes the video to take on a very documentary quality, like something from the History channel.
It's interesting that pictures shown on this video are seen in the nested video, like the guy with the hat. This creates a layered effect in the video, albeit in a confusing way. This blurs the lines of what is being recorded, and also raises questions of what exactly it means to appropriate another's work.
And when the nested video interrupts the current narrator, it is again baffling where this video is going. And as other narrator is telling a story, it isn't really clear how that fits in. The biggest feeling I get from this video is confusion. There are so many different elements being explored, the main idea or point of this video is difficult to discern.
Near the end he says, "This is about love and competition. No. This is about forgetting. ..." Even the narrator is having trouble knowing what he means.
