For me, this video reminds me of a contemporary art world's attempt at a soap opera. It is unique and weird and it tells a story. The emotional drama and battle that we see and hear through the many images and what the narrator says leads us through this journey in and out of the video world. It is a very interesting take on describing a narrative, especially while describing a romantic relationship, because it is this constant story of time and what happened between the exchange between Morris and Benglis and the images on the screen and the background noise do not particularly match up.
Certain aesthetic techniques that Morris and Beglis use help to convey the dialog they are trying to produce. The way the video starts out with the echo affect similar to Back to You by Richard Serra, and describes romantic and emotional feelings in a monotone and repetitive way that is completely opposite of the emotion that these words describes. The layers of videos, pausing on pictures, and the back and forth images of the two artists help to convey this exchange of feelings and their personal take on what happened in the narrative. Even though the narrator's voice is neither of the artists , he still does a good job on getting across the artists point of view and minutely expressing their feelings. Some of the parts that really stuck out to me was when the narrator would say "I am not going to say this again" like he was frustrated in a way like a couple would be in a fight. I also like the narrators description of the situation being woven under and over as is very reminiscent of the video as the video is a video of videos and videos and because there are so many sounds create the "mumble" that the artists talk about.
